Our Mission

1. Love God:  We teach all believers to establish a personal and intimate relationship with God.

2. Love People:  We create opportunities for our KC body of believers to build strong bonds of fellowship with each other, being grounded and rooted in love.

3. Evangelize & Make Disciples:  We are focused on proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to all and training believers in all the ways of God.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to worship the Triune God, who is the Creator, and the One who is sovereign over the entire universe. To study and learn in order to obey the teachings of God and build the church based upon the Holy Scripture. Wholeheartedly endeavor and contribute to the work of proclaiming the Good News of salvation of Jesus Christ in accordance with the teaching of Matthew 28:19-20. Build unity and fellowship with fellow churches as well as Christians in order to strengthen one another’s faith in Jesus Christ our Savior.

Our Beliefs

We are part of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) of churches.  Click on the link to read the SBC Statement of Faith.

Our History

In 2005, Pastor David Tan Mai was initially called to plant a new church with two families.  This calling was fulfilled on February 26, 2006, with the first worship service. By God’s grace, the church grew to over 50 believers by November 2006 when another group of 40 believers without a pastor came under the pastoral care of Pastor Mai.

In 2013, the Lord gave Kirkwood Church a great opportunity to purchase an existing nearly 3-acre church campus on the south side of Kirkwood Road. Operating this ministry in the middle of the Vietnamese and other Asian and multi-ethnic communities placed Kirkwood Church in a strategic location to evangelize these surrounding communities for the kingdom of God.

As the Lord brought more believers to Kirkwood Church, it became stronger in evangelism and discipleship.  God has poured out His abundant grace upon the church as its leaders have committed to fulfilling its vision and mission.

Kirkwood Church is currently led by the Senior Pastor, Rev. Tan (David) Mai,
Associate Pastor, Rev. Thanh Vo and English Ministry Pastor, Rev. Joseph Kim.

They are assisted by part-time, seminary-trained ministers, Dr. Dzung Pham, D.Th., and Mr. Duy Anh (Dewey) Doan, M.A. in Christian Ed, and several other church members who serve as lay ministers.

Kirkwood Church identifies as a conservative protestant Vietnamese-American church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.
